What were Adam and Eve like before they ate the apple? The bible tells us of Eden, where they lived, and what they did, what they saw on a daily basis. My curiosity ponders, how did they act, on a personal level? How did they feel? Or did they have any comprehension of feelings? Were they so engulfed, harmonized with God that variation of Feelings and Emotions were obsolete? What is it about these traits that changed after knowledge of Good and Evil was acquired? Furthermore, what knowledge was actually gained from eating of the tree of knowledge? I would love to hear your thoughts on these things. In non- religious diction. How did this knowledge change humanity so much? And what is the comparison from before the apple and after? Apart from the common answer of ‘Man was introduced to Sin.’ Well then, what is SIN? How is it that knowledge gained, gave birth to the label ‘Sin’?
Did we gain knowledge of duality? Balance of ‘good’ and ‘evil’. Clearly we are not entirely from either spectrum, but created within both. They both form one, as yin and yang. We are one within this balance.
Is it because it had always been in our nature to label and name things, that we, by our vary nature continued to do the same. Only now, with the ‘knowledge’ that the other side of the spectrum existed we became aware of separateness? Not seeing the unity within duality. An all encompassing God.
These are thoughts I’ve had. I am passionately curious as to others thoughts on this topic. No judgments, just passionate curiosity.

For my part, I think you are over thinking it a bit. Imagine for a moment a perfect, loving relationship. Two People, One soul. One Harmonious Union. Each is still separate from the other, yet each feels deeply with and for the other. Sometimes you even think the same thoughts, you want the same things. Life is harmonious and Sweet.
Now imagine if one of the pair decides they want to do whatever they want to do, without considering the feelings of the other. They put their own wants and need first. With that one selfish, rather than selfless, act, the sweet harmony is severed forever because that act is hurtful and nothing can be the same.
“Sin” is simply a by product…an after effect. Like the angry, hurtful, self-loathing feelings one might experience after doing something they know is intentionally hurtful to someone else that spiral out of proportion.
It might be Over simplified, but this is the way I look at it.

Morgan,
Your reply was beautifully stated. An exceptional view point. I feel comfortable with your words, I feel truth.
I overthink EVERYTHING! I’ve always been the child, and now adult to say ‘why, why, well? why?!…’
Your perspective is very clear to me and makes sense. It is the realization of separateness I mentioned within this post. The realization that we could make decisions apart from God’s wishes.
I actually spoke about this post with my mother today. She is what I label a ‘bible thumping christian’. Though she is going through an interesting transition right now back into reality with God. I tend to heave revelations in auditory form, or rather through conversing with another, as we are now, even through writing,
Anyway, within the conversation the thought you mentioned in the last paragraph of your response passed through my consciousness. Something like ‘Sin is not an action. Sin enters in two areas. It is the reason you are choose to act in a way that causes you to feel negatively afterwards, as well as the negative feelings you feel afterwards. Sin does not lay in the action itself, but in the birth and aftermath of the choice.’
Thank you for responding. I enjoy perspectives. And I am filled with questions. I feel God is comprised of a collective consciousness. As though he reveals pieces of who/what/how he is through our individuality. All the while connecting us within our curiosities and struggles, when we choose to share in them and join together. I suppose much like our relationship with him. . .

What a beautiful conversation. It amazes me endlessly how His Spirit can flow from one, to another to inspire thought and understanding and then flow through that one, back to the originator to inspire a new perspective and deeper connection. God is truly Marvelously Mysterious and yet, so simple, really. He is Love. and He longs to Love us and be loved in return, just as we long to love and be loved.
Blessings my friend! Keep asking! the answers come, but only when we ask the question 🙂
(ooooo! I might have to post that thought 🙂

I share in your excitement entirely!! I am delighted when God manifests in such personal form.
I have a question of Love also. A longing really. . . For understanding of what real, pure Love is. I feel I have no real concept or tangible thoughts of ‘real’ love. Apart from the realization that when I say ‘I Love you’, what I mean is ‘I have feelings so strong that Love seems to be the only word I know to use to describe them’
I would like a revelation, heartfelt wisdom and recognition of spirit filled love. I desire to be a conduit for the type of love God exhibits, through the collective.
I believe you should post your last statement. Curiosity is a gift. Seeking answers is always exciting and inclusive of God ❤

I think you answered your own question here. Ask God to reveal to you HIS plan for Love in your life, HIS idea of Love. Ask that He will open the eyes, ears and heart of your Spirit so you will be able to recognize and receive his answer and then believe the answer is already coming.
God is Love. He will show you.

To me, religious literature is a form of art, belles lettres. When i think of the Bible and the stories that it tells, i can´t help but ask myself right at the start, where god creates the man and before the part of Eve´s creation. The part about the first man. How did it feel? What was he? A single creature in the most beautiful untouched world, with no ability to reproduce or communicate. A creature that could only…BE. A human in a perfect equilibrium. Without a concept for time and space. And when I think of Adam this way, I can´t help but ask myself the question if the Bible was not supposed to be understood backwards, as a description of how to reach this state of consciousness – the so called Paradise. Once we are there, love is all there is.

🙂 🙂 I see so much truth in your words. I agree. I believe all religious texts are significant. As though there are bits a pieces of divinity within everything and every faith. I Love your vision of Adam. I believe in the same way as you, we are working back towards Eden. I see the difference now being Choice. Choice to believe in Eden and that it was made for man. Choice to Love. . . interesting 🙂 Thank you for responding!
